Dearest Clients, Thank you ahead of time for considering The Maryland Seamstress for your project; I look forward to working with you. I take great pride in the quality of my work for all my clients and in providing these
services in a timely fashion.
To accomplish these goals, I have established certain criteria: Clients are scheduled by appointment only. This ensures that all clients will have my undivided attention and will not be inconvenienced by waiting un-necessarly.
Please no appointments after 7:00 pm, if you need a appointment
after 7 pm, there is a $10 charge for every 1/2 you are here. Because
I dont start cooking dinner till 7pm.
During the Early Part of the day (5am - till 1pm)
( I watch Joyce Meyers & Creflo Dollar then)
I do my pattern sewing. If you need someting sewed by pattern or drawing or designs, this is when I sew your creations & ideals..

During the mid - day I break for lunch, work on my alteration book I am writing, and "try" to answer emails. The pups get let out on leash for thier 1/2 hr workout ( So I can get mine too)
About 3 pm ( While watching Paula White on Christian TV)
I am back to sewing again, switching now to any clients alterations, done in order as to when the client needs thier garment back, OHH and I never have
been late for anyone's alterations!!
At 7:00 pm sharp I am done sewing and I am cooking & serving
my family dinner. My husband has type-2 diabetes and requires me to give him a insulin needle. I can't be late for this, his life depends on me being on schedule=)
This is why I ask - no appoinments after 7:00.

I schedule only those projects that can be successfully completed in a given time period. This policy guarantees that all deadlines are met. Clients are asked to please call ahead to cancel appointments. I truely appreciate this!
I do not charge a consultation fee for first fitting as others do.
I call this a insultation fee! If I were shopping for shoes and they "consulted me", the shoe shop would still never dream of charging me a fee, and I am the same way. The lord blesses me greatly I dont need to "create" wealth.
Do you need measurements for a clothing item you are purchasing elsewhere? I can also professionally measure you,for a $10 CASH ONLY fee.
This fee is refunded back to you if I do your alterations.
Just email or call to make a appointment.
I do charge a fee for shopping for you for alteration needs, such as crinoline skirts & bra cups. After all I am using up my time, My gas, my car etc.
I know you understand!
So I welcome you in your own purchases and would rather help you along that way for your gown, etc.
Fittings: Fittings are a required part of alterations. There can be anywhere from one to four fittings per item; two is the usual amount. Come prepared with proper undergarments, shoes and any other accessories necessary
for the altered garment, to ensure the perfect fit.
Without the proper garments I cannot fit you
properly for your gown
Final Fitting: This is when we
both determine that the fit is good, and all is well... at last!
I "balance the books" at your first fitting after alterations.
Any credit for an over-estimate on materials is
applied and a final payment,
in cash ONLY, is due.

I do require a deposit of $50 for bridal gowns
and $25 for every other gown/dress.
In cash or check ONLY.
The balance is due at your first fitting after alterations.
If my charge is under $25, you can pay
at drop off or pick up time.
I will accept the balance in credit card
thru paypal IF you email me prior to
your first fitting after alterations.
You must email me for this. My paypal
is the same as the email address
that I use on this web site.

Cancelations of alterations
are accepted
with a full refund of first deposit
are given back within 3 business days from the
time you drop off your gown for gown alterations.
After that no refund of the first installment payment
will be refunded. There are several reason for this. The main on is
I could have taken on another client that would have followed thru in having thier gown altered.

If the wedding is suddenly canceled, I still intend to
finish alterations. Yet if you wish, I can stop the process,
where ever I was in altering.
However, I expect full
payment of the total gown alteration before
you pick up the gowns. Why? Because I could have altered
someone elses gowns, and it is clearly not my fault
the wedding was stopped.
In 2006, this happened
to me 3 times in the same month. I think I cried
the most, these gals were really special, and to
see them hurt, pained me! But you know, they ALL
completely understood my cancelation policy.

At this point, I accept payments in forms of CASH Only when picking up your item, checks or cash are accepted when you bring your garment!
Credits cards are accepted thru paypal upon request.

Other Services I offer are:
Ring Bearer Pillows $45,
Flower girl baskets $25
Garment bags $20
Gown cleaning $10-30
And Gown Steam ironing $35 per wedding gown.
Many gals get this to get the
wrinkles out of thier mail ordered gown....
